Recruiting Notebook 1.2.17: Important comments from US Army Game check-in; TE Cam Butler getting some USC interest; Richardson names new top 6

USC commitment DB Hamsah Nasirildeen said at the US Army Game check-in Sunday he’s 70% with USC on his commitment at this point.  He said Florida State is the only other school he’s still considering.  Nasirildeen is scheduled for his official visit to USC January 13th.  He has already visited Florida State officially.

TE Cameron Butler (6-3 220) of Ridge View currently is committed to Colorado State and is scheduled for a visit there January 13th.  But he’s getting some interest from USC and would be open to more from the Gamecocks.  “My options are always open in case I see a better fit. I love Colorado State and  if USC officially offered I would definitely consider them if I felt it was a better fit.  They’ve asked for my scores and transcript recently, and coach Muschamp followed me about two weeks ago.”   Butler said he went to two games at USC this season.   Butler also has offers from Appalachian State, Georgia State, Old Dominion, Liberty, Coastal Carolina and Mercer.   This season Butler had 41 catches for 490 yards and 1 touchdown.  He also was named to the Shrine Bowl.

ATH Tancey Richardson of South Aiken updated his top six as USC, Indiana, Ole Miss, Georgia State, Maryland and Colorado State.  He said he hasn’t spoken with USC recently due to the bowl game but plans to soon.  He also picked up an offer recently from Massachusetts.

Conway OL Gunner Britton said is most recent contact has been from Georgia State and Vanderbilt.  He’s also getting mail from Clemson.  He said he’s not hearing much from USC and hasn’t set up any junior day visits
