Recruiting Notes For June 23
DE Dorian Gerald of Florence and the College of the Canyons JC, CA tweeted Thursday night that he’s close to committing. “It all boils down to four schools,” he tweeted. “I dreamed and wished and prayed for a moment like this. I have to go with my heart on this one.” He has not identified his top four schools though he visited USC and Tennessee earlier this month and has set an official visit with Louisville for September 16th. He’s also had Texas A&M, Florida State, Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, Syracuse, Georgia, NC State and LSU on his favorites list. Gerald has not said when he will make a public commitment.
DB Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta, GA, who at one time had USC as his favorite, says he no longer has any favorites, and he’s cut the list of primary schools he’s considering from seven to six. Ole Miss is out leaving USC, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State and Wake Forest as the schools he’s focusing on. He also is still considering Clemson and plans to visit there this summer. Horn said he talks with the Gamecocks “almost every day. I’m still high on them and it’s a great situation going on there.” Horn has visited USC, Tennessee and Alabama. He said he’s not close on a decision and has no timetable for making one.
