Recruiting June 3rd: Another kicker prospect for USC; USC out with Benton; More offers go out
JUNE 3, 2016

USC is holding a specialists camp Sunday and one punter/kicker planning to attend hoping to catch the eye of special teams coach Coleman Hutzler is Joseph Gurley (6-3 195) of Killen, AL.  “I was told by the special teams coordinator back in early May to come to a camp.  “They were looking at a preferred walk on. I have no clue about if an offer is possible.  Maybe I can earn one if I do good at the camp, but I have no clue.”  Gurley said he prefers punting.  He averaged 42 yards per punt last season and had only four returned.  He also had a 49 yard field goal and made 99% of his extra points.  Gurley also is hearing from Alabama, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Southern Miss and Troy.

LB Markail Benton of Phenix City, AL cut his list to a final three of Alabama, Auburn and Florida State.  Clemson, USC and LSU were in his final six.

LB Colin Anderson (6-2 210) of Killen, AL was offered Thursday by USC.

USC Thursday offered 2018 OL Warren Ericson of Duluth, GA.

USC Thursday offered 2018 DB Randy Russell of Opa Locka, FL.

USC and Clemson target DE MJ Webb of Madison, GA visited Tennessee Thursday.
