I think BAW, Green, Sawyer, Wideman, Smith, A Williams, Wideman, Jaustin Thomas, Lamin, Davidson & any other DB if we sign them, could all play in yr 1 if they come here & qualify.
I'm really thinking while still making a run at DJ Smith & Green, I'd try to press Q Wilson & Lammons to OV for UF game & recruit them hard.
When they visited this summer, Smalls was healthy, Green was committed & Harris had just committed. We actually turned down a commit from Lammons.
Now things have changed w/ Green's decommitment & Small's injury. We can absolutely sell them on playing together as they've wanted to play as Fr & play significantly. Meanwhile UF has recruited like a monster particularly in the DB. I don't see either of these guys getting on the field early there ( which both stated as main factors ) w/ VH3, Washington, Neal, Purifoy, Harris & the others they've landed & are likely to land like an Adore Jackson or Tabor.
I think it will be tough to flip them but why not go all out & try ? We have much to sell & UF has done it to us. We sell them on the early pt, playing together, UF's depth chart & still targeting highly touted guys out of CA, TX & MD at those positions. Wilson is friends & former teammates with Skai Moore & Lammons wanted to commit. I say recruit them hard going forward & try to get them in for an OV. I'd push to get them in on UF weekend as it's a big weekend & they probably would feel more comfy doing so while we're playing the team they're committed too. Why not ? What do we have to lose.
I'd also look for some late bloomers & be the 1st to jump on them of the big schools ( Walton, Moore, Cooper last yr ). I'd also reestablish contact w/ guys like Battle, Truitt, K Webster & K Randolph who visited. Most are committed but we have some OV 's to use & why not see if they'd check it out & see what that opportunity for early pt might do for them.
Same thing at DE vs chasing 2 targets that seem like longshots now. I'd look at the JUCO ranks again considering pt is always the biggest factor to them as well as late bloomers, guys that were interested but committed elsewhere & guys committed to lesser programs or programs stacked at DE. We are a top SEC program ranked in top 15 for 4yrs now. Let's go get some good players, even if it's guys committed elsewhere as others have tried to raid us. 4+ months left. & a lot of talent out there.
