TE Gavin Schoenwald of Nashville has been a top USC target for months and made it back for his third visit since November.  “USC is near the top for me.  Today was awesome.  It was different that any other visit I’ve been on. It was extremely laid back which gave me more of a feel for the actually family atmosphere. I really enjoyed it.  Auburn, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt are up there with South Carolina. That’s not an official list because there are some other schools I am talking to.   This will probably be the end of my spring visits. I’ll take some more in the summer.”   He also has offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Iowa, Duke and Mississippi State.

DB RJ Roderick of Cane Bay continues to favor USC after his visit Saturday.   “Nothing has changed as to where they stand.  After today and spending some time,  it might tweak some things moving forward with my family, in a positive manner.  I will definitely be talking to them.”  Roderick  has actually been eyeing September for making his commitment but that timetable might move up after this visit.   He also has  offers from Virginia, East Carolina, Army, Air Force, Georgia State, SC State, Wofford and The Citadel.

DB Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta, GA had another good visit with the Gamecocks and they remain among his frontrunners.  “Bama,  Tennessee and South Carolina are ahead right now.  I just spent time with Muschamp and T-Rob and it was cool,  so just gaining a better relationship is the best thing I took (from the visit).”  Horn said he will take more visits this summer and could have a decision before his season.

LB Ernest Jones IV of Waycross, GA, who is favoring USC, didn’t make it to USC Saturday due to a track meet. He is set to announce his commitment Friday with the Gamecocks the big favorites over Duke, Georgia Tech and Florida.

TE Tommy Tremble of Johns Creek, GA did not make it to USC Saturday after his transportation fell thru.  He has been to Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee in recent weeks.

Other top USC targets who were expected to attend Saturday but did not make it in were DL Rick Sandidge of Concord, NC, DL Darnell Jefferies of Covington, GA and WR Dennis Smith of Gaffney.

OL Jovaughn Gwyn of Charlotte has visited USC in the past and has been sitting on a Gamecock offer for several months.  The Gamecocks continued to strengthen their position with him thru Saturday’s visit.  “I saw how dedicated their coaches were and their staff to their team, to the organization.  I feel good about them, I feel more comfortable with them. The visit gave me a chance to see how they are outside of football.”  Gwyn said of the schools that have offered  him, USC, NC State, Duke and Wake Forest are the four pushing the hardest for him.  He has been to those three Tobacco Road schools as well.  He’s looking at June or July for a visit.  The schools like Gwyn for guard or center.

LB Quay Walker of Cordele, GA was at USC Saturday.  He’s had Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU and  Auburn as his top schools.  The Gamecocks have now joined them.  “There in my top 5 now.”

DB Trey Dean of Hampton, GA made a return trip to USC Saturday.  He also was in for a junior day in January.  That visit was heavy on learning about the school and the program.  Dean said this visit was more for relationship building.  “It wasn’t really like a recruiting visit.  Felt like a family day.  I liked everything that they had on campus. The coaching staff is always great and South Carolina stands pretty high on my list.  Muschamp and TRob have produced a lot of DBs at several different colleges.  They said they really want me and I’ll put them to the next level.” Dean said Alabama, Georgia, Texas, UCLA and Oregon join the Gamecocks in his top group.  He also has visited Georgia and Alabama and he plans to visit Texas.  He is looking at June for a decision.  There is no favorite.
