I really want all 3 of these guys this cycle:
- 4* OL Emanuel McGirt is 1 of the prospects in this cycle, particularly on the OL. I'd love to get him in the fold & think we have a good shot. It sounds like the NC schools are very much n the mix but I'm hoping he really hits it off with Elliott, loves his coaching style, sees an OL roster w/ all the T's as upperclassmen by in large, opportunity to leave state but still be close to home & the draw of playing in the SEC as well as being a Top 10 program vs those NC schools being sub par teams in an inferior conference is a big enough list of Pros to ink with us.
- 4* WR Auden Tate is a big need losing 2, probably 3 WR's & having lost K Smit. We seem to be in pretty solid shape for Christian & Bowman ( I guess still w/Neal too ) which to me makes a big WR a really critical need this cycle. I hope an appealing depth chart, the ties to the area, lack of a big WR ( aside from Googer ) & as Wes mentioned, the success recently with Big WR's Jeffery, Rice & even Gurley wil put us in the driver's seat. We also have the SEC to pitch.
- 4* OT Paris Palmer would give us the Top rated JUCO OL 247 & an immediate impact at an immediate need with losses at OT. He appears to be ally legit & the fact he scheduled a visit so soon after the offers a good sign. It has to help we are losing probably 3 of our top 5 T's & that Matulis is a Sr too. There also aren't really any pure, sure fire T's behind Matulis, other than Zandi on the roster which I hope helps us not only with Palmer but all OT's in the cycle. I feel like 1 really good JUCO OT is what we need in a 5 man class along with 2-3 more T's, 1 interior guy ( Hatton I hope ) & then 1 versatile guy that could play either like Bailey or Veal.
* I'm actually hoping for this OL cass:
- 4* OT - Paris Palmer
- 4* OL - Tommy Hatton
- 4* OT - Emanuel McGirt
- 3* OT - Zack Geilla or 3* OT - Shane Lemiuex
- 4* OL - Zack Bailey or 4* OL - Mason Veal
* We may very well find ourselves with the best crop of JUCO prospects this cycle too w/ a lot of current #1 guys at positions:
- 4* OT - Paris Palmer
- 4* DE - Dante Sawyer
- 4* DE - Marquavius Lewis
- 4* LB - Davon Durant
Possibly:
- 4* DE - Dexter Wideman ( maybe prep if he doesn't qualify this cycle )
- 4* RB - Alvin Kamara ( I know it's early, but having RS a yr & having 3 to play 3, if we miss on Tyshon Williams orate RB board continues to seemingly see many of our 1st choice targets at the top f the board fade, I'd absolutely be in favor of going hard on Kamara with the possibility of losing Davis & Wilds, the fact all our scholly RB's will be Sr's in Carson & Wilds other than D Williams & he could potentially make a great compliment to Williams for 2-3 yrs. Not to mention, we could & probably would still take another RB. I'd love to get Tyshon Williams & Kamara. JC seemed to think Kamara would be interested were we to go on him & I can certainly see why given location, opportunity, how successful we've been running the ball & how successful RB's have been in our Offense. It makes a lot of sense to me.
