He was very enthusiastic about the Beamer hire and seemed to all but say directly that Beamer would be more successful here than Spurrier was.

Agree. There was no reason for Morris to openly lie about Bruce Ellington besides being some kind of jerk who could hide behind a keyboard and attack with no fear of reprisal. 

Of course he's going to say Shane is going to do better than Steve.  :rolleyes:

 
Steve Spurrier press conferences were must watch.  I love the one following a win against Vandy where he went on for 5 minutes about how embarrassed he was at the teams poor play.  Ron had to feel about an inch tall after this one.

 
I hadn't even thought of Ron in years - it was like a cloud lifted from The State the day after he retired and all we had afterwards was more of less fair and honest coverage.

Has the coverage improved at The State since Morris left?  I've avoided it since he was there...I've got access to the paper through my Apple News feed.  Worth giving them click credits?
