Ryan Hilinski among top performers at Elite 11
June 04, 2018
Four-star quarterback Ryan Hilinski, one of the top-ranked members of the 2019 South Carolina recruiting class, finished among the top performers at the Elite 11.
For his work this weekend near his home in Southern California, Hilinski will now move on to The Opening Finals in Frisco, Texas. The Gamecocks pledge was one of 12 quarterbacks to receive an invite, according to 247Sports’ Barton Simmons.
On Monday morning, Simmons wrote about Hilinski’s performance at the Elite 11:
Hilinski, who’s ranked by the 247Sports composite as the No. 6 pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2019, is a 6-foot-4, 222-pound prospect from Orange (Calif.) Lutheran High School.
South Carolina landed his commitment over offers from Georgia, Ole Miss and Oregon, among others. LSU, Ohio State and UCLA offered after he joined the Gamecocks 2019 recruiting class.
247Sports’ Greg Biggins thought Hilinski was the second-best quarterback during the Elite 11 competition.
“I learned a lot of things from a lot of great people and a lot of great players out here. They’re out here for a reason, so I can learn from them and add that to my game, if it helps,” he said.
Hilinski is the No. 2-ranked member of South Carolina’s recruiting class, which checks in at No. 4 in the country, according to the 247Sports composite. The Gamecocks’ haul is currently ranked third-best in the SEC.

- “The local 4-star prospect had his best performance Saturday at his pro-day workout and was solid again [Sunday] during 7-on-7. He took what the defense gave him, protected the football and made smart, efficient throws when he reached the red zone.”
