Satterfield excited about Gamecocks quarterback haul

More on Rattler…

"When we started talking, I told him, 'Everybody in the country thinks you stink as a quarterback. Everybody in the country thinks I stink, so let's go at it with the biggest chips on our shoulders that we possibly can get. Let's go attack this thing every single day.' And we kind of bonded.
Don't work smarter; work dumber and harder do it with fervor, dang it.  I know Satt is making a joke, but ...

All that tells me is it really sounds like Satt isn't going anywhere. Sadly.
Meh.  Here is Satt's record at Temple with Matt Rhule:

It took him two seasons to finally get going at Temple before he left in 2016 to take the Tennessee Tech HC job, which didn't work out after two seasons.

He wants to run a Pro-style offense, but we don't have the NFL-caliber talent to make it work.  However, Matt Rhule does at Carolina.

Satt just has one year left on his contract and both he and Rhule were successful together at Temple.  Rhule may only have one year left at Carolina after this year if he doesn't turn things around.

He can try to beat the odds and make a Pro-style offense work here (not likely anytime soon) or go to the Panthers where he probably KNOWS he would have the talent to make it work.

Any OC anywhere with a poor record like this season with only one year left on his contract isn't really going to bring us the top-tier recruits that Shane wants.

I still think he's gone after the bowl game and it's probably not as negative a thing as people may think between him and Shane if it happens, but we'll see.

Well somehow he and/or Shane managed to reel in some big time QBs this go around.

I'm neutral on Satt at this point. Would not be sad to see him go, but also would like to see what he can do with Rattler.

I’m with you. I think there may be a chance with him. I don’t know.

Agree 100%.  I was definitely on the side that something needs to change at the season end.  However the recruiting success made me become more neutral in respect to Satt.  He may need to go next year if we get the similar results but another year is needed to see if he can improve things with better QB play and another season.  I'm still concerned that if we didn't have the talent last season to run his pro style offense, we don't have much more next.  Would have liked to have seen more adaptation to the players we do have.  Or are we just lacking that badly for offensive talent.

Portal WRs will be huge to the success of our offense next year, regardless of OC. Speculation on the kid who shined for SC State last week - Shaq Davis, IIRC? - maybe being one addition.

The "insiders" are still hinting that a change is coming. I guess we'll see if there's any fire with that smoke in a few weeks.

Yes, I saw that too - have to wonder if after the bowl game we will see some movement.
