More confirmed visitors
On Tuesday, SEC Country rolled out its first list of guests for Saturday’s home opener against ECU. A few other in-state prospects have since confirmed their plans to be in Columbia this weekend:
Johnson mulling an ECU game unofficial
3-star DE Brad Johnson told SEC Country on Tuesday night that he’s “not sure” if he’ll visit South Carolina this weekend for the ECU game. The 2017 prospect from Pendleton (S.C.) High School is also in the midst of scheduling a round of official visits for the fall.
“Working on that now,” he said. “Should have all the officials by next week.
Last week, Phil Kornblut reported that Johnson was in the midst of arranging official visits to Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
Whether or not all four of those schools will get official visits is still up in the air.
“Not completely sure yet,” Johnson said of the potential destinations. “Should have them all planned next week.”
Top 2018 QB target may return
According to Tyler Donohue of Bleacher Report, 2018 QB Artur Sitkowski is considering a visit to South Carolina
Sitkowski was on campus earlier this summer for camp, where he worked out with offensive coordinator Kurt Roper.
“From Coach Roper to Coach Muschamp, I felt really comfortable there and my dad felt comfortable with the people down there, so it was awesome,” Sitkowski said after the visit.
The 4-star from Old Bridge (N.J.) High School is the No. 54 overall prospect in the country.
South Carolina’s third All-American
Jamyest Williams was selected to the Under Armour All-American Game on Tuesday.
The 4-star cornerback from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga. U.S. Army joins 4-star OLB Hamsah Nasirildeen and 4-star WR OrTre Smith as South Carolina’s All-American commitments. Nasirildeen and Smith have been picked to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
