Saturday recruiting updates
June 09, 2018
notes:
▪ Commits Jahmar Brown and Issiah Walker both tweeted they were in Columbia. So was Gabe Stephens, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound, 2021 athlete who has offers from USC, Penn State, TCU and North Carolina.
▪ Speaking of Kinlaw, it's impressive how he's slimmed down. Looks nothing like a guy who was 340 pounds a little more than a year ago.
▪ Included in the group of current Gamecocks around was wide receiver Chad Terrell, who tore his ACL in the spring. He didn't have a brace on Saturday afternoon.
▪ Although he missed all of spring practice with a back injury, early enrollee freshman linebacker Ernest Jones was out on the field and helping run some of the drills.
▪ Much of the Limestone football staff was on hand and helping run various stations.
▪ QB update: One passer who looked good was J.J. McCarthy, a pro-style passer from Illinois. He seemed to get some face time with quarterbacks coach Dan Werner and has offers from Iowa State, Indiana and Cincinnati. The staff also seemed to have an eye on Winter Park passer Gino English, who didn't start last year but is set to take over a 12-1 team next season.
