Boy did our D do that in the game Saturday.
They were basically non-existent for the first 58 minutes of the game. Clowney had been rendered non-effective. Our secondary was getting violated in the worst way by Tyler Bray. No sweat, Clowney goes beast and forces a fumble as UT was marching towards a tying FG, at least, and likely the game-winning TD with the way they were moving the ball with ease. What a compliment to this young man. It would have been easy for him to not try quite as hard after being held in check for the entire game. He could have easily just said “it’s not my day today and checked out of the game mentally”. But there he was still fighting, still trying to out-technique his opponent all the way down to the wire. And he did. I was very happy to see that effort from him after having an off game.
