Tragic story for all involved. Savion played OLB for South Pointe, and was the 13th ranked player in SC 2019 class. Prayers to both families.
CHESTER, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a high school football star heading to college and a school district superintendent have died after their vehicles collided head on.
Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker identified the people killed as 18-year-old Savion White from Rock Hill and 58-year-old Betty Jo Hall from Abbeville.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Gary Miller said White’s SUV crossed the center line and slammed into an SUV being driven by Hall’s husband around 6 p.m. Thursday on state Highway 72 south of Chester.
Tinker told news outlets White was on his way to Newberry College where he had a football scholarship while Hall was the superintendent of Abbeville County schools.
Miller says Halls’s husband survived and everyone in the wreck was wearing their seat belts.
