Nuts and Bolts- It was a down year in the Palmetto State talent-wise, so South Carolina was forced to go out-of-state to sign the majority of top prospects in the class. Six high school prospects from the state of Georgia lead the way (Martin is originally from Spartanburg, S.C.) and South Carolina got four out of the state of Florida. Gamecocks quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus was again named to 247Sports Top 50 recruiters list as he was responsible for landing Mitch, Griffin, four-star offensive tackle Na’Ty Rodgers (Pomfret, Md./McDonough), four-star running back David Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) and linebacker/safety Mohamed Camara (Cumming, Ga./West Forsyth), who many feel could be the sleeper of the class.
