SEC class rankings across the major recruiting services

With less than three weeks to go before National Signing Day, there has been a little bit of movement in the composite recruiting rankings across the four major services.
Texas A&M now ranks third, nudging LSU down a spot — thanks to some recalculating from our friends at Rivals and Scout.
The Aggies have 26 commitments in their 2017 class, which is good. Thanks to graduation and early departures for the NFL, a few of those newcomers will need to chip in early.
Auburn has slipped past Tennessee into the fifth spot, despite having the league’s seventh-best class in Rivals’ estimation. The Tigers already have seven new players on campus, including former 5-star quarterback Jarrett Stidham, and 13 more players pledged to come on National Signing Day.
Alabama is still the consensus No. 1 in the SEC and in the nation. Four 5-star recruits are among the 12 early enrollees already in Tuscaloosa, and 14 more players are committed to what is shaping up to be a hefty haul for the Crimson Tide.
Defensive line depth is a concern, but it’s one that the Alabama coaching staff is trying to address.
Georgia has been a solid second in the composite rankings for some time. With 4-star athlete Tray Bishop’s addition on New Year’s Day, Georgia has 17 commitments to go along with its six early enrollees.
The Bulldogs are also still in the hunt, as is Alabama, for 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon.
LSU has 17 pledges on its board to go along with a pair of newcomers already on campus. The biggest remaining piece of business is landing 5-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.
It won’t be easy, though.
Like Texas A&M and Alabama, the Volunteers are hoping to reel in a big class on Feb. 1. With five players already in Knoxville, that leaves 21 on the board for Butch Jones & Co.
There’s still room for 4-star defensive end LaBryan Ray, however, and he’s at the top of the wish list.
South Carolina has a 22-man class now but still is hoping to add to its offensive and defensive lines. One of those targets is 3-star tackle Jordan Rhodes, who may wait to make his decision after Signing Day.
Florida (15 commitments), Mississippi State (20) and Arkansas (21) complete the top 10. Kentucky (22), Missouri (21), Ole Miss (14) and Vanderbilt (14) round out the rankings.
