SEC Media place Gamecocks 5th in the East plus preseason All-SEC team

July 22, 2022

SEC Media feel Shane Beamer still has a lot of work to do in the league race

The media who voted in the annual SEC Media Days poll foresee a fifth-place finish in the East for USC. But three of the voters believe the Gamecocks will win the SEC Championship. One voter gave Vanderbilt their championship vote. The overwhelming favorite by the media to win the title is Alabama. The media predicted the Crimson Tide to win the West and Georgia the East.

Gamecock receiver Josh Vann and tight end Jaheim Bell were voted onto the All-SEC Offensive Pre-Season Third Team. On defense, tackle Zacch Pickens and cornerback Cam Smith were voted onto the second team.
