SEC stops included on Warren Ericson’s summer camp swing

Warren Ericson’s summer camp season included stops at three SEC East schools.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive guard from North Gwinnett High School (Duluth, Ga.) also visited a pair of schools from the ACC.
During a recent interview with SEC Country, Ericson shared thoughts on each of the five.
South Carolina: “I went there and I had a great time. The camp was awesome. I loved working with coach (Shawn) Elliott. He’s a very upbeat kind of coach. I really like that about him. I saw the facilities, all that stuff. Everything kind of blew me away with coach (Will) Muschamp. They had a 7-on-7 tournament after the offensive line camp and he took away 30 minutes from that just to talk to me. That’s really important to me. They all seemed to like me. I was blown away by it. It was awesome.”
Florida: “I really liked Florida. They offered me already. I got to see all the facilities. Florida is a beautiful place to be. My parents went there, so it was cool to kind of see where my parents lived and did their thing.”
Georgia: “That was a good camp. I met coach (Sam) Pittman. He showed me around a little bit. I met the offensive coordinator (Jim Chaney), he seemed like a good guy, so I was excited about that. I haven’t really heard that much from Georgia afterward, so I guess they’re kind of finishing with camp and are going to come back and talk to me.”
Clemson: “That was a one-day thing. I got to work with coach (Robbie) Caldwell. He’s a great coach. My former teammate, Mitch Hyatt, he goes there, really likes him, so Clemson is definitely a school I really want … to possibly get an offer from and just be more invested.”
Virginia: “My grandpa is a Virginia alum. He goes back every year for the alumni meeting and all that good stuff, so he loves Virginia. He has a house about a mile from the campus and we go there every Fourth of July. I’ve been on Charlottesville’s campus, the grounds basically all my life. I love it there. It’s awesome. It’s a beautiful campus.”
South Carolina, Florida, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt have offered Ericson, a member of the 2018 class, who added that he’d like to score offers from Georgia and Clemson.
“I still have a year,” he said. “I want to take as many visits as I can, really get to know the coaching staff and put my list down, then commit sometime in the next year.”
Ericson’s older brother, Peyton, is a defender on the South Carolina soccer team.
“He just wants the best for me,” Warren said. “If it’s South Carolina, it’s South Carolina. If it’s Florida, Vanderbilt, all the other places I’ve been offered, he’s going to be with me 100 percent.”
The Gamecocks have plenty of appeal.
“They built the new indoor practice facility, which is incredible. It’s huge. It’s beautiful. It’s amazing,” he said. “They’re also going to build a new weight room, but as far as the weight room underneath the stadium, the one they use right now, it’s one of the biggest ones I’ve seen at any college I’ve visited. It’s incredible. I like how the locker room and everything is just so close. Everything is really beautiful there.”
