Down by 2 at the half. Decent but not getting the offensive boards and giving up some inside.

Pretty good first half, that's the good news. Bad news is that we've seldom put together 2 good halves.

Speechless, hope we get to play in the NIT and they get to end the season on a better note than that

I couldn't watch or listen to the game, but that about sums things up this season.

Frank's teams haven't done well historically in the SECT, either. They usually get dumped in the 1st or 2nd round.

Frank has been win one/lose one against Ben Howland, too.

I still like this season's team and hopefully they will get an NIT bid. I remember Tom Izzo went to the NIT Final Four in his first year and then won the NIT Championship in his second season. Of course, he hasn't really looked back since then, either.

I still think getting to 20-win seasons one way or another is the best way to be and we could take the occasional NIT bid as long as we had a few NCAAT appearances over the years to balance that out.

We'll see what we get as far as the NIT goes.

You’re almost hitting the nail on the head. For us to get an NCAA bid, it’s 20 wins on the season, BUT that must come with 11 or 12 SEC wins as well. Get 19 wins on the season and 12 wins in the SEC, that puts you on the bubble, and likely in the tourney. It’s the SEC portion of things combined with a few good/top caliber OOC victories that are key.

The exception to that rule, of course was our 2015-16 season, where the 12th win guarantees us a tourney bid. We got 11, and play in the NIT.

The thing that really chapped my azz about the 2015-16 season was the team didn't seem to care about the NIT after getting snubbed for the NCAAT and I think that definitely included Frank. They were totally flat and listless against a good Georgia Tech team, but there was an opportunity to set a record for most wins in the modern era since the Frank McGuire days if they went all the way in the NIT. I suppose things like that are just human nature and are going to happen.

It's obviously not as likely as it was last season, but we might possibly get in if another likely-selected team has Covid issues.

I thought I heard several weeks ago that Reese was going to be only one leaving this year because of the Covid exemptions and stuff like that. It makes you wonder if the mentality of the team is to be done with this season or to keep fighting.

The NIT obviously isn't the top prize but the way I see it is that if you're in it you should try and win it.
