Stoops is a veteran, successful SEC head coach and he's right up to a certain point.
He has the confidence of a HC who's figured out how to be consistently successful and he's different than Will or Shane from that standpoint.
Having said that, Shane seems to have brought a larger number of better recruits than Will and UK is probably going down this season.

It's a shame the Gamecock team that showed up in the bowl game didn't show up against Kentucky. We would've killed them.
Cal brought that on himself. Stoops is a very good coach, manager and a good enough recruiter to remain solid in the 2nd tier of the east. We shouldn't strive to be just where they are but it would be an improvement on where we are now and have been recently. Shane is doing a ton of good things, has great/positive energy but they're two totally different coaches who go about things differently. Stoops doesn't need the antics and so many feel good stories, but if it continues to work for us, I'll take it. Both schools have some obvious challenges but what he has done at UK is give them consistent respect and an identity as a hard working, tough fighting team. I like Stoops and he will be difficult for UK to replace should he decide to leave one day. Aside from one game, I'm a Stoops and UK fan.
Yeah I get all of that but for him to take issue with Calipari over UK being a basketball school seems kind of silly.
Didn't mean to go on a rant towards you Blitz and do agree 100% that it's silly. Needlessly so. However, what Cal said came across as a message to the FB program, recruits and competitors that FB has less value at UK than basketball. Cal shouldn't have ran his mouth like that. Regardless how true the statement below may have been in the past, what Stoops and the FB program have done recently has made them a football school as well, for the time being. Wonder why he chose just 10 games and 'bowls'? Petty jealousy?

It's all good brother, I didn't take it as a rant toward me. Let's beat UK and at least shut him up towards us.
