Seventh Woods Transferrimg

As do I.  I stand by my assertion that he would be a TREMENDOUS asset to our team.  His leadership, his experience, and his skill set are things we can utilize.

His career at UNC did not pan out the way Seventh wanted it to, mostly because of injury.  But his teammates and his coaches (including Roy Williams) all agree on his character, ability, and leadership.

If he’s ready to come home to Columbia, he’d be a great catch.

He would fit in perfect here fingers crossed he decides to come on over.

My primary concern was to add some size to the roster, due to the losses of Silva and Haase, but after getting grad transfer Henry to the mix, if we still have room for Woods, then I'm OK with it. If he chooses to come to USC, he would have to come on as a walk-on, because unless something unexpected happens we are full for scholarship players. Woods would have to sit out a year anyways, because he doesn't have his degree from UNC yet, so his red-shirt year could be as a walk-on player, and then once he's eligible to play there could be a scholarship spot available.

The question would be, would Woods and his family want to spend a year on their dime at USC, or go elsewhere to a program that has the scholly room for him to sit a year for free.....

He WAS a student at Hammond.  I don't think there's aversion to spending the proverbial "dime".

They probably spent the money for Hammond because they wanted a quality education and superior athletic training and development for Seventh, and because there wasn't any other prep school around that could provide those things at no cost. If it was the same thing at the collegiate level, I imagine they would do the same thing. This however, is not that kind of same thing.....

One good thing about this though, is the proximity to home. Michigan is pretty far away, and Gonzaga is even further. The distances may work in our favor here....
