Georgia State looks good, I remember when we rejected him. His offense is definitely better that Champs and his defense ain’t bad either. I’ve always liked him, I just hoped our coaching hire would be more flashy. I still like Shane, I just think we made a poor decision hiring Will Muschamp.

We hired a fired failure and failure is what we got.  I think that Shane can fix it but it will take several seasons.  Do we have the patience needed?

I liked SE and in hindsight he was probably a better option over Muschamp.  Wasn’t given much of an opportunity.  However Tanner got played and rejected and had moved on from SE by the time he scraped the bottom of the barrel for Muschamp.   Who knows if Elliott could have done it at this level or not.   I do wish him the absolute best and success whatever he does in the future.

Losing to the Citadel lost him any possible chance at a HC position.  I like him as well, but not sure he was ready to coach at this level .

He is a gamecock through and through.Timing was not right for him. But probably would have done no worse then Muschamp.

I thought he and Mangus were trying to run a different offense than Spurrier. Essentially the one he is running now at GSU.

Would not be surprised if GSU is ranked in the final year-end poll.

The next step is winning the Sun Belt and they are very capable of that.

He is learning how to be an even better coach at Georgia State. I am happy for him. They have their ups and downs but that program loves him.

Agreed. Love the guy and wish him nothing but success (except for week 1 of next year when we play them).

"The Georgia State University Panther Band has been selected as one of 20 marching bands to perform in the Tournament of Roses parade on New Year’s Day 2021 in Pasadena, Calif.

In the coming months, the Tournament of Roses president, Dr. Robert Miller, will visit Georgia State to extend a personal invitation to members of the band and meet with community leaders.

Nicknamed “The Granddaddy of Them All,” the parade is held in southern California in conjunction with the Rose Bowl college football game. The parade is a 5.2-mile trek down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena with nearly a million spectators along the route and an estimated 500 million watching around the world.

“I am so proud of the current and past members of this program,” said Chester Phillips, director of athletic bands. “We have quickly established a world-class band at Georgia State University by living up to our motto – ‘Entertainment through excellence and energy.’”

Sometimes referred to as “The Sound of Downtown,” the Panther Band adds this achievement to its rapidly growing legacy. In 2013, the Panther Band marched through Washington, D.C., playing the music of James Brown during the inauguration of President Barack Obama. In 2014, the band entertained millions along the streets of New York and on television as it participated in the 88th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. In 2019, the Panther Band performed for more than 100 million viewers as part of the Super Bowl LIII halftime show."

Just happened to catch the band as they played toward the end of the parade today.  They both marched and played well.
