South Carolina's top wide receiver target 4 star Darius Slayton 6'2" 182lbs will announce his college decision "soon". Sources have indicated to Mansell to expect a decision in the next 10 days at the latest. Other reports have indicated that Slayton could announce on Thursday when he receives his Under Armour All-American jersey.
South Carolina assistant coach G.A. Mangus visited with Slayton yesterday after his practice. Slayton will make his decision between four schools: Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina.
At different times throughout his recruitment Georgia and Auburn were thought to have lead for Slayton, but lately there has been more talk surrounding Tennessee and South Carolina. 247Sports Crystal Ball currently reads 73 percent to Georgia, 18 percent to Tennessee and 9 percent to Auburn. Slayton has not publicly named any leaders in recent weeks.
Slayton visited South Carolina officially on November 22. While at points in the process he had been recruited as both a defensive back and a receiver, Slayton is being recruiter on offense by South Carolina, which is the position he has said he prefers
