Football News:

USC’s 2014 QB target Drew Barker of Hebron, KY had planned to visit USC next weekend for the spring game but has had a change in plans. Barker will spend next weekend at Kentucky to give himself a complete look at the Wildcats. Barker visited USC for a weekend last month and feels he has a good enough feel for the Gamecocks to make a decision about them. This weekend Barker is visiting Tennessee. He is expected to make his decision sometime in May.

LB Chris Register of Greensboro, NC has offers from Clemson, USC, Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Ole Miss an Indiana. He attended a junior day at Clemson and looks forward to a return trip. “I had a good time and I want to get back down there for some football games,” said Register. “They still hit me up on Facebook all of the time.” USC is another visit he wants to take during the season. “Coach (Shawn) Elliott contacts me from time-to-time and told me he really wants to get me on campus,” he said. “I went there for a junior day when I was a sophomore and I really liked it. I want to get back for a football game this year.” Register attended junior days at UNC and NC State but had little to say about the visits. “They went pretty good,” said Register. “They’re both recruiting me hard.” His most recent trip was planned for Florida State but a scheduling conflict forced Register to cancel the visit. He does not have any favorites but did express interest in the Tigers and Gamecocks.

DB Dravon Henry of Aliquippa, PA picked up an offer from USC this week. “South Carolina seems like a great school,” said Henry who’s never visited the campus but would like to this summer. He has been to West Virginia and Pittsburgh for spring practices. He plans to take several other visits especially during the football season. Henry said he had a top four of Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State and West Virginia. “I’m not rushing the process,” he said. “Things could change. I’m not sure when I’ll make a decision. When I feel the time is right for me.” Henry played safety last season and had 6 interceptions but said he can also play cornerback.

LB Bryson Allen-Williams of Ellenwood, GA will continue his tour of schools Saturday when he visits Georgia. He was at USC’s junior day last month, and last Friday he visited Clemson. He’s also been to Tennessee. Allen-Williams said the Clemson visit has regenerated his interest in the Tigers. “Clemson, at first, I was not very interested,” he said. “I didn’t get the feeling they were recruiting me hard. I talked to coach Venables and coach Swinney and they said they are very high on me. They practice with a lot of intensity on the defensive side of the ball and I really liked it.” That was his second visit to Clemson. Allen-Williams said USC remains his favorite with Alabama second and Georgia third on his list. “I hear from South Carolina almost every day,” he said. “I’m taking it all in and going on visits and trying to see different kinds of schools.” He will cut his list down at the end of the school year and will take more visits over the summer. Allen-Williams still plans to announce his decision August 9th.
