I just had the chance to speak with three-star offensive lineman Shane Lemieux’s father. He told me that Shane did commit but it is contingent on his mother and stepfather visiting South Carolina. That visit will happen this April and he told me it would “probably” be for the Garnet & Black Spring Game, but that’s far from official at this point.
Shane’s father told me that they have heard from several schools while on this trip but they couldn’t fit any other trips into the schedule other than South Carolina and North Carolina. Vanderbilt wanted him to come visit as did Michigan. He told me that Shane is going to “put the breaks on” until the mother and stepfather can come out and visit Columbia.
Shane’s father also said that he has been on several visits to several schools with his son and that South Carolina’s staff is “top shelf.” Shane’s ultimate goal is to play in the NFL and they think that South Carolina is the best spot to be able to achieve that goal. He had nothing but great things to say about the program, South Carolina is where Shane wants to come to school but they want Shane’s mother and stepfather to be a part of the process and basically sign off on the decision.
