South Carolina – South Carolina State Men’s Basketball Game Postponed

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, South Carolina and South Carolina State have agreed to postpone the scheduled Dec. 29 matchup between the two schools on the hardwood.  A makeup date has not been determined at this time.

So VERY disappointed this game won't be pllayed on schedule.  I doubt if it will be played at all.  Once SEC play begins, I don't see how a place can be found for this game.

New rules MUST be implemented about Covid, or the season will be decimated by cancelled games.   1.  No player or coach should be tested for Covid who is not showing symptoms of illness.   2. If a team has at least 8 scholarship players and at least 1 coach who is not sick and who has not tested positive within the last 5 days, that team should be allowed/required to either play, or forfeit the next scheduled game.  If such rules are not implemmmented, college basketball will be destroyed until Covid goes away.

I hope there is a make-up period for any cancelled games before the respective conference tournaments begin.
