South Carolina brought in 2 quarterbacks in the 2016 class and it is doing it once again in the 2017 class. The Gamecocks added a preferred walk-on quarterback commitment on Wednesday.
Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill quarterback Drew Dinsmore announced on National Signing Day that he would walk on at South Carolina next season.
Dinsmore, who is 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, had offers from Cornell and Eastern Kentucky, according to 247sports.
South Carolina signed Wren (S.C.) quarterback Jay Urich as its lone scholarship quarterback in the 2017 class.
The Gamecocks brought in Jake Bentley and Brandon McIlwain in the 2016 class, with both starting last season before Bentley took the starting job for the second half of the season.
