July 19, 2016
The No. 30 ranked cornerback in the class of 2017 previously listed a top four that included South Carolina, Auburn and Clemson.
Shaw, a rising senior at Ellenwood High School in Cedar Grove, Ga., announced the news on Twitter on Monday night.
South Carolina hadn’t hosted Shaw for a visit since April, so the Gamecocks weren’t considered a serious contender when he unveiled a list of favorites three weeks ago.
Damarri Mathis and Tavyn Jackson are already committed to the 2017 class. Plus, South Carolina remains in the mix for 4-star Jamyest Williams (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and 4-star Yusuf Corker (Stockbridge, Ga.). The Gamecocks recently offered Corker’s teammate, Shakur Brown, who’s also projected to play cornerback at the next level.
