South Carolina commitment lands offer from AlabamaSept. 19, 2016
One day after Alabama lost a commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Aaron Sterling, the Crimson Tide offered South Carolina defensive line commitment Javon Kinlaw.
Kinlaw, who’s currently enrolled at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi, is on track to enroll at South Carolina next summer.
Monday’s tender from Alabama won’t change those plans.
“They offered me in high school so it’s a bold statement from them,” Kinlaw told SEC Country, “But I’m still 100 percent a Gamecock.”
A few days before the Mississippi State game, South Carolina defensive line coach Lance Thompson watched Kinlaw play against Mississippi Delta.
Kinlaw, who’s from Goose Creek, S.C., has 11 tackles and 3 sacks in three games for Jones County.
