South Carolina football: Can Rattler rewrite the USC record books?​

Spencer Rattler Jr. steps into South Carolina’s 2022 season, and its home opener against Georgia State Saturday night, as one of college football’s most heralded quarterbacks.

There’s plenty of hype about the Oklahoma transfer, who basically has been handed the keys to the Gamecocks offense. He already has been mentioned as a possible Heisman Trophy candidate.

I am really hoping that Rattler has a special year -- it would be amazing if his play put's in Heisman consideration at the end of the year. It's almost impossible for a player to be a finalist with a mediocre team record. So let's go #HeismanRattler.

His QB credentials are pretty solid, but I think it still comes down to the other players on the team.

He can only overcompensate for them so much if they're not doing they're jobs.

We'll know what we have after Game 2 or 3 this year.
