South Carolina football depth chart: Gamecocks vs. North Carolina

August 26, 2019

The South Carolina football team opens its 2019 schedule this Saturday against North Carolina. Here is the first game week football depth chart:

South Carolina football depth chart

Only 1 true freshman starter, and that's Jammie Robinson at Nickle. RS-Fr. Manos at Center, but he started the bowl game and did a decent job. He's backed up by true freshman Murphy however - that's a little disconcerting. But if there's struggles there, Stanley could always slide over to C, and let Rhodes fill in at LG, or even Douglas could slide over as well at C, so we have all kinds of options there.....

Like what I see at RB.

5 Rico Dowdle 6-0 215 SR-3L Asheville, N.C.

OR 4 Tavien Feaster 6-0 221 SR-TR Spartanburg, S.C.

OR 34 Mon Denson 5-10 215 SR-2L LaGrange, Ga.

Some were trying to imply (CT) that how they were listed on the Depth Chart meant a definite #1 #2 #3. I believe at RB and other positions where we have quality depth there is no difference, anyone of them will start, play at anytime.

Coach McClendon said if one does good, he will get the most carries. Personally, I think they will both do good trying to earn the lead and Jake won't even have to pass a whole bunch while we enjoy watching them running like crazy. All those strong 300+ pounders on that O-line should be able to make some holes against NC's 280 pounders. And if need be, let Mon have it a little bit. He likes to play smash mouth. He will wear them out real quick so the holes will open.

All 3 of our RB's can also get around the corner really quick. And as soon as Jake does throw a couple passes the secondary is going to be backing up.
