South Carolina football: Predicting the Gamecocks' next 5 games

Its hard to see too deep into my crystal ball...as long as we get past Mizzou with a W I can see a Gamecock team developing week by week going into Athens with a winning record and a more mature team identity and ready for an upset. If that were to happen it could still be a magical season.

    On the otherhand Lose to Mizzou and we will be saddled with mediocrity or worse...... This is a MUST win game.

 
Lose to Mizzou and it's maybe a 4 win season, 5 at the absolute most (but not likely). The rest of the year hinges on Saturday's game in (the wrong) Columbia. It is absolutely a must win game if there is any chance for what could be called a successful season (bowl game). 

Beat Mizzou and that makes UK much more likely, suggests we can compete with UF, beat UT, Vandy, App St, and compete with A&M. That provides us with 8 potential W's on the year (though 6 or 7 is more probable).

A loss to MIzzou makes UK a lot less likely, with additional losses to UGA (of course), UF, A&M and Clem. That's 8 losses and only 4 (realistic) wins. Maybe we steal one from UK or UF, but that's a strong maybe. 

The season rides on Saturday.

Lose to Mizzou and the season is done.....and probably any support for the coaching staff
