South Carolina football recruit cancels UGA visit … with flat tire

by Michael Carvell

09/17/12

One of South Carolina’s football recruits was scheduled to visit UGA on Saturday, but couldn’t make it because of a flat tire.

Mohamed “Mo” Camara, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from West Forsyth High School, had car trouble on the way to Saturday’s UGA-Florida Atlantic game. Camara, who was already running late for kickoff, decided to cancel the trip after the flat.

“It was a bummer, but the game ended up being a blowout,” said Camara, who texted UGA defensive coordinator Todd Grantham to let him know he wasn’t going to make it.

What’s the deal with “Mo” and UGA? “I had interest in them early,” he said. “Right now, I’m not really looking at recruiting that much because I’m committed to South Carolina, and I’m 100 percent with them. I really don’t talk to Georgia that much.”

Camara committed to the first school that offered him, South Carolina. He pledged to the Gamecocks last spring, and has since added football scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Central Florida and Middle Tennessee State, among others. (more)
