USC’s big junior day gathering on Saturday has resulted in one new commitment for the 2020 class. WR Da’Qon Stewart 6'2" 194lbs of Huntersville, NC said he committed to Will Muschamp Saturday afternoon while on campus with his parents.

Da’Qon Stewart out of North Mecklenburg in Huntersville, N.C., made his choice after a visit to USC and one of Will Muschamp’s junior day events. He is a 6-foot-2, 194-pound receiver/quarterback.

Stewart also plays basketball.

I’m happy, I’m happy to get it out of the way. This is the play I wanted to be,” Stewart said Saturday afternoon.

“I love everything about it. It’s a family. I’m going to play outside receiver and the told me it’s got a chance to be one of the best classes they’ve had, my class. We got one of the best quarterbacks coming in next year and we’ve got the best quarterback in my class coming in for 2020. It’s going to be a good, strong style of offense.”

“Greatest day of my life,” Stewart posted on Twitter. “I would like to thank coach Muschamp and the coaching staff for the opportunity to further my education and football career that is something I always wanted to do since a kid. With that being said, I am excited to announce I am committing to the University of South Carolina.”

Stewart also had an offer from Akron, UMass and interest from North Carolina. USC offered him Dec. 13. He is the fourth commit for the Gamecocks for Class of 2020.

“I’m happy, I’m happy to get it out of the way,” he said. “This is the place I wanted to be. ... I love everything about it. It’s a family. I’m going to play outside receiver and they told me it’s got a chance to be one of the best classes they’ve had, my class. We’ve got one of the best quarterbacks coming in next year and we’ve got the best quarterback in my class coming in for 2020. It’s going to be a good, strong style of offense.” Rivals ranks Stewart as the 28th-best prospect in North Carolina for his class.

“This does it for me,” he said. “I feel like my heart is here. I love everything about this place. So, I feel like I’m just going to shut it (recruiting) down.” Last season Stewart had 75 catches for more than 900 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
