South Carolina LB commitment benches 350, runs 4.46
July 19, 2016
South Carolina commitment Davonne Bowen has been hard at work in the weight room at Woodmont High School this summer.
In March, at The Opening in Atlanta, Bowen checked in at 6-foot-1, 215 pounds. As of Monday, he’s added 10 pounds.
Along with his 350-pound bench press, Bowen was also timed at 4.46 in the 40-yard-dash on Monday. His last max-out on bench press was 345. At The Opening, he ran laser-timed 40 at 4.66
Bowen, who’s from Piedmont, S.C., committed to South Carolina in June.
The 3-star weak-side defensive end will play linebacker for the Gamecocks. Coach Will Muschamp believes Bowen could play all four positions in the scheme.
“Muschamp was telling me that he loves my skill-set. He loves my athleticism and that I’m a God-gifted pass-rusher,” Bowen told SEC Country in June.
On Tuesday, he’ll max-out on squats and will be timed in the pro-agility run.
