South Carolina offers 2018 wide receiver Seth Williams on Signing Day
Feb. 01, 2017
It’s Signing Day 2017, but South Carolina made a move on one of the best wide receivers in 2018 on Wednesday. The Gamecocks offered 2018 wide receiver Seth Williams, a standout at Bryant (Ala.).
The 6-foot-2.5, 202-pound Williams also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Florida State and more.
Williams is rated as a 4-star recruit and is the No. 143 overall player and No. 21 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The Gamecocks played all four of their freshman wide receivers in 2016, although one — Randrecous Davis — wound up taking a medical redshirt after he suffered a hamstring injury early in the season. South Carolina has sought to address the position well in 2017 and again in 2018.
The Gamecocks signed three wide receivers in the 2017 class. Chad Terrell and Shi Smith signed on Wednesday to join early-enrollee OrTre Smith as the incoming receivers.
