During Saturday’s on-campus 7-on-7 tournament, South Carolina offered 2018 wide receiver Demarcus Gregory.
Chris Clark of GamecockCentral was first to report the news.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect from Byrnes High School (Duncan, S.C.) arrived at Columbia on Saturday morning with offers from East Carolina, Louisville, Maryland, NC State and Wake Forest.
“He’s got tremendous body control, great route-running. He runs routes, man. He’s just a route-runner — he’s on another level … strong hands, another big body, long speed,” Byrnes coachBrian Lane told SEC Country about his rising junior wide receiver. “That’s one thing that people are going to be surprised, he strides, so it doesn’t look like he’s running. He’s gaining ground.”
Former Byrnes coach Bobby Bentley, who now serves as the Gamecocks’ running backs coach, is Gregory’s primary recruiter to South Carolina.
