South Carolina preseason camp primer: Quarterbacks

July 24, 2019

Will Muschamp’s fourth preseason camp as coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks starts in nine days.

The Gamecocks open Year 4 of the Muschamp Era with senior starters at several positions, including the most important spot on the team. Jake Bentley, who’s started in all but one game since midway through his freshman year, leads an offense that improved by nearly six points per game under first-year coordinator Bryan McClendon. The only one that can overtake Bentley is Hilinski. Joyner has some talent but the bulk of it is in his running. Urich is so overlooked it's not even funny, I believe he should be in the mix with Hilinski for the #2 spot.
