South Carolina RB commit Kyshaun Bryan offered by Oregon State

Jan. 09, 2017

According to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, South Carolina running back commitment Kyshaun Bryan has been offered by Oregon State.

The 3-star prospect from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. is reportedly eyeing an official visit to Corvallis for next weekend.

Though Bryan is currently listed as a commitment on the Gamecocks 2017 board, the firmness of that pledge has subsided over the last couple of months, and it may not necessarily be his doing.

However, a potential parting of ways could be a mutual decision.

During the final contact period in 2016, Bryan was uncertain of when exactly coaches from South Carolina would stop by St. Thomas Aquinas High School. At the time, he also listed Arkansas, Mississippi State, Miami, UCLA and Michigan as other schools receiving consideration.

SEC Country made multiple attempts in December and January for further detail from Bryan, but those interview requests went unanswered.

Earlier this month, a 2018 running back recruit told Phil Kornblut that the Gamecocks would not be signing a 2017 prospect.

Even with the graduation and departure by David Williams, South Carolina’s running back rotation includes several scholarship players for the 2017 season: sophomore Rico Dowdle and redshirt sophomore A.J. Turner. Other scholarship running backs include redshirt sophomore Mon Denson and redshirt freshman C.J. Freeman.

North Carolina transfer Ty’Son Williams, who joined the team as a walk-on this fall, could be placed on scholarship for the 2017 season.
