South Carolina recruiting targets and commits at 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl

The Under Armour All-America Game is just days in the rear view mirror, but now attention shifts to San Antonio and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Like the Under Armour game, the All-American Bowl features the nation’s top seniors, but it is considered more prestigious than its counterpart in Orlando. This year’s edition will be played on Saturday at 1pm Eastern time and be shown on NBC.

How many Gamecocks commits are playing?

Two soon-to-be Gamecocks are in this one and playing for the East: Concord (N.C.) DB Hamsah Nasirildeen and Wando (S.C.) WR OrTre Smith. They’ll have future opponents like Clemson QB commit Hunter Johnson, Georgia-bound RB D’Andre Swift, and Swift’s future teammate, WR Jeremiah Holloman.

Looking ahead

While the Gamecocks aren’t heavily targeting any uncommited prospects in this year’s game, they have a couple playing in next year’s: DE Xavier Thomas and RB Zamir White have already been selected to the 2018 roster. It’s likely that we’ll know where both are headed long before next January.
