South Carolina, Vols first in the fray for fast-rising Tennessee RB recruit

June 09, 2016

Two SEC schools have already offered 2018 running back prospect Master Teague.

South Carolina was first from the conference to do so for Teague, a 5-foot-10.5, 194-pound prospect from Blackman High School (Murfreesboro, Tenn.). The in-state Vols have since followed suit, offering Teague after he attended a UT camp in Knoxville earlier this week.

The Gamecocks sent running backs coach Bobby Bentley to Teague’s high school during the May evaluation period.

“As far as I know, South Carolina has a history of being a good program,” Teague said. “I have also heard about Coach Bentley’s winning legacy and desire to coach his players, and coach (WillMuschamp’s intense passion for the game.

“I’m looking forward to visiting the campus and getting to know the surrounding community.”

Teague is looking to visit at some point this summer, with the trip likely coming at some point during the month of July.

“I hope to visit South Carolina, Tennessee and Louisville. I will be attending Tennessee, Michigan, Florida, Louisville and hopefully South Carolina camps,” he said.

As a sophomore, Teague rushed for 383 yards and six touchdowns.
