South Carolina WR commitment Darius Rush defends triple-jump crown

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina wide receiver commitment Darius Rush successfully defended his triple-jump crown in the 1A state track meet on Saturday.
The junior from Kingstree, S.C. took home the 2017 title with a 46 foot, 1 inch jump. It was the third individual state title of his track career at C.E. Murray High School.
With a long-jump of 21 feet, 5.5 inches, Rush finished third in the long-jump on Saturday. He also ran the final leg of his school’s 4×100-meter relay team, which finished fourth.
Rush scratched on the high-jump, the other state championship he was defending at this year’s state meet. That and the triple-jump were the only other events he competed in during lart year’s meet.
