4 star defensive lineman Nyles Pinckney 6'3" 290lbs received visits from a pair of Southeastern Conference schools Thursday.

South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier and assistant coach Everette Sands dropped in on the junior. Spurrier and Sands greeted Pinckney and dropped off an invitation to the school’s Junior Day, Whale Branch coach Jerry Hatcher said.

“Once they get you on campus, they can say whatever they want,” Hatcher said.

Georgia linebackers coach Mike Ekeler also visited.

Hatcher said Spurrier and Sands congratulated Pinckney on a good season and spent time posing for pictures around the front office.

The junior Pinckney is rated a four-star prospect by websites 247Sports and Rivals. He owns offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Clemson coach Tony Elliott reached out to Hatcher to schedule a visit for next week. School will be out Friday and Monday.

Hatcher expects Pinckney to add an offer from LSU. The Tigers recently hired Kevin Steele as their defensive coordinator. Steele was linebackers coach at Alabama, which offered Pinckney in November.
