Lorenzo Ward’s defense had quite the day Saturday, limiting the high-powered offense of the Missouri Tigers to a modest 248 yards of total offense, and gave up only 10 points. Ward’s unit now ranks 5th in the country in scoring defense. Through 4 games the Gamecocks defense has given up an average of 9.8 points per game.

On Monday, Coach Ward joined Korn and Bill Gunter on SportsTalk ”First Edition” locally in Columbia on 560 TheTeam to talk about what he saw from his unit over the weekend.
Ward talked extensively about Saturday’s action, explained just how his “rabbit” formation is supposed to work, and also updated us on the health of Kelcy Quarles, and whether or not you should expect to see Akeem Auguste in uniform this week against Kentucky.
