Has anyone heard Spurrier comment on our coaching hire? He was pretty quick with a quip about Muschamp's leaving...

I can't remember where, but somewhere I saw that Spurrier called Tanner to give him the thumbs up on Beamer during the search.

He said he was going to comment but grew tired of the questions so he quit in the middle of the conversation and left...oh...my bad...I'm confusing Spurrier situations

You're clearly making that up, as it's lacking the <tooth suck>

There's an article on SDS today about it.  Spurrier didn't say much but basically said everything is there for Shane to do well.

I think you forgot the part where tanner begged him to comment, but SOS said he didn't really want to. only to eventually agree to doing a half assed job, but only if he got to spend half his time working in another city at another job, so he could show he honored his commitments. (at least I think those statements combined will hit all the currently standing bitching points)

“I think he has a chance to do well,” Spurrier said. “Like he said the facilities and everything is in place there. If he can get us to a level we were at there in ’10 through ’13, that would be very good. It’s hard to say how somebody’s going to do until they get an opportunity to do it. So we’ve just got to hope and believe that he’s going to be a good head coach.”
