2019 CB Jammie Robinson, who was offered by South Carolina earlier this month, enjoyed his first trip to the school with two Crisp County (Cordele, Ga.) teammates 2018 LB Quay Walker and 2019 DT DeAngelo Griffin.

The group spent most of the day with Bucks coach Mike Peterson, but they also got some face time with coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator  Travaris Robinson.

Jammie is a big fan of T-Rob. Muschamp and Peterson also a strong first-impression.

He'll be back in the summer.

2018 CB Jaycee Horn visited with his father, former NFL wide receiver Joe Horn.

The younger Horn recently named Alabama as his leader, in part because they didn't sign any 2017 cornerbacks.

"(South Carolina) is following right behind Bama with Tennessee."

Three-star TE Gavin Schoenwald hopes to have a list of favorites in the near future.

"Ever since my visit last year (for the Missouri game), South Carolina has kind of been near the top and I think today was kind of a reassurance that they need to be up there. That could definitely be a place that I could see myself for the next four or five years of my life.

"I also got to bring my mom and my dad down (Saturday), so they saw it as well, which I was really excited about. It's not really a 4-year decision, it's a 40-year decision.

"They've got the tools and everything there to set you up for life. The business school there is great, which is what I want to do, so I'm really excited about that. On the drive back to Charlotte, we had a great talk about it, so I'm sure I'll be in touch with coach (Will) Muschamp and coach (Bobby) Bentley and give them feedback about how the visit went."

2018 OL commitment Hank Manos:

"The visit was great. It was awesome getting to spend some time with the coaches and other recruits."

He added, "Spent time with OL recruits. We went rock climbing, which was fun. Also got to do the scavenger hunt with other commits, which was great."

Atlanta-area prospects Warren Ericson and Dylan Wonnum were the other 2018 offensive linemen on hand for the event, along with commitment LaMarius Benson and guard Jovaughn Gwyn (Charlotte).

2019 WR Quendarius Jefferson, who was offered on Saturday, got word of it from coach Will Muschamp, after speaking with area recruiter Bobby Bentley.

Contact with South Carolina began after his showing at last summer's camp. He's also visited to watch practice.

"Growing up, I really didn't have a favorite team. I just liked football, period. Every team I saw on TV, I just studied my position and other positions as well, but I never really did have a favorite team."

Maryland was first to offer.

2018 LB Rosendo Louis, who will announce a decision on May 18, did not visit South Carolina today.

There had been some chatter that he was going to be on campus. However, the 3-star from Deerfield Beach, Fla. did not make it to Columbia.

Wide receiver Darius Rush, the Gamecocks’ first 2018 commitment, had a “great” time during Saturday’s visit.

“It was good to take time to talk to some recruits and talk to the coaches."

Rush said he spent time with Cane Bay (Summerville, S.C.) safety R.J. Roderick.
