Monday night developmentsOn Monday night, 5-star DE Xavier Thomas, the No. 2 overall player in the class of 2018, tweeted his first visit plans for the season.

Auburn hasn’t been much of a factor for Thomas, who’s a junior at Wilson High School in Florence, S.C. Earlier this summer, Thomas announced a top 4 of South Carolina, Clemson, Ohio State and Florida State.
Right now, it would appear that Thomas is utilizing the trips as another opportunity to see Clemson play in person.
But we’re not ready to rule out Auburn just yet. Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele grew up right around the corner from Florence in Dillon. Steele, who once worked at Clemson, is well-versed in recruiting the Palmetto State.

Catching up with DaleyIn January of 2015, during his senior year at nearby Ridge View High School, Dennis Daley committed to former South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier.
Daley was eventually placed at Georgia Military College, where he just began his sophomore season. The goal is to enroll at South Carolina in January, but if he can’t make it into school that soon, he’ll arrive in the spring.
“Hopefully, I’ll be done as soon as possible,” Daley said.
Other suitors entered the picture after Daley’s first season at Georgia Military.
“I had some schools contacting me, but I’m not really interested in any of them,” Daley said. “Louisville offered me, but I’m not really interested in other schools.”
Columbia is home — his family moved there from South Florida in 2007.
“Ever since I moved to Columbia, S.C., I kind of fell in love with the team,” Daley said. “And I like (offensive line coach) Shawn Elliott as a coach and as a person. It’s close to home.”
Daley is the 30th-ranked JUCO prospect in the class of 2017. He’s also the No. 7-ranked offensive tackle.
“I haven’t talked to them about a position, but I’m assuming I’ll still be playing tackle,” Daley said.

The group from Hollywood, Fla., included 2018 RB Shawn Shivers, 2018 ATH Xavier Williams and 2017 DE Christopher Whittaker.
“Well, at the South Carolina, there was a lot of competition. There were a lot of kids from down in South Florida up there competing for a spot,” Hawkins said. “It was very intense, but it was all good and loving. The competition, everything went great. Everything went well.”
Hawkins added, “School-wise, it’s spectacular. The facilities, everything looked amazing. It was just like home when I was up there.”
The No. 20-ranked strong-side defensive end in the class of 2018 hopes to visit South Carolina again this season. If that trip doesn’t materialize, he hopes to return next summer.
“It’s a little bit too early, but at the same time, the offers that I’m actually favored to, one of them is to South Carolina,” Hawkins said. “Another one is Alabama, then Georgia and Florida. My list is very open right now. Those are the up towards the top. I should have my list done by the middle of my junior year.”
