Segment 1
- Steve Spurrier says that the best doctors in the country operated on Marcus Lattimore and that it really went well.
Spurrier says hopefully Lattimore will be back playing for the Gamecocks next year.
- Spurrier says when they first got there Florida, Georgia, Clemson and Tennessee were kicking our tails. Now there's a new team, called Arkansas, that's kicking our tails. Fans need to show up big Saturday and make it tough on Arkansas.
- Hopefully we'll play a lot better than we did against Tennessee defensively. Have a different plan this week than last. Have to mix it up a little bit better than last time out. Need to win a bunch more games to try and do some things that have never been done before. Spurrier says Todd's team that went undefeated only won 6, have a chance to win 7 home games this year for what he believes is the first time ever.
- Connor Shaw gimped around a little bit today but he's got no excuses, he's ready to play. Dylan Thompson is good to go. Most of the defensive guys are good to go. Even Akeem ran around a little bit today.
Segment 2
- Todd points out that it's Spurrier's 100th game at South Carolina.
- Tommy calls in and says he's a little worried about the secondary after looking at the last couple of games. Spurrier says obviously it didn't look very good against Tennessee. Spurrier says they're not going to give away the game plan but they'll do some different things. Spurrier says it was fun to win a 38-35 game, says he hasn't won many of those, so glad to win it. Clowney won the game.
- Arkansas' biggest problem has been turnovers. We had them at the beginning of the year but then not many until the last few minutes of Tennessee game. Winning football is about getting breaks. Florida blocked enough kick against Mizzou. When you make those plays, good things usually happen.
- Scott in Columbia wants to know why they're not going to wait until Marcus Lattimore is in the building to put up the TD record signage. Spurrier says Marcus isn't big on a lot of personal recognition anyway. Says they'll unveil that in between the first and second quarter. Not sure if Marcus will be there for Wofford game, time will tell, depends on the doctors. Marcus just needs a little space, he needs some breathing room. Let's get the knee fixed and then Marcus is going to do his thing and play football. That's what he does. He's going to get back and do his thing and then when he's done with football, he'll do his other thing whatever it is that may be.
Segment 3
- Steve in Columbia. There's no way this is a real call. Steve is doing some weird combination of a Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier voice. Wants to know about how much Kenny Miles and Mike Davis will play. Spurrier says Kenny will be ready. He's a physical fitness guru. Arkansas hasn't been good against the pass but they know they have to run. Hope to redshirt Brandon Wilds but if they need him, they'll play him. Wilds could play in the NFL one day too.
Segment 4
- Someone is on for something called the Cocky Countdown. They're trying to raise $23,331 in a 24 hour span. That's the number of students at USC. Point is a $1 donation from everyone would go a long way. Cockycountdown.com is where it is.
Spurrier gives the guy $100 and says now you just need $23,231.
Segment 5
- Eddy says that the record for straight home wins is 15. Todd corrects that it's 14 straight. Eddy says coach can break the record for most wins by a coach in Clemson. Spurrier says that's a lot of ifs. Don't like to deal with a lot of ifs. We need to concentrate on Arkansas.
- Gameday forecast is looking good. Mostly sunny skies, no rain clouds and 69 degrees at kickoff time.
- Spurrier said the cold air blew in earlier this week. Spurrier says he had to bundle up a little. Spurrier says Kenny Miles, Connor Shaw, Damario Jeffery, Justice Cunningham and Shaq Wilson wore short sleeves -- those are the tougher guys on the team, Spurrier says.
- Craig in Greenville says the Arkansas coach said on the news that Arkansas always plays well against Carolina. Spurrier says yes they have played well and have thoroughly beat us. We didn't play worth a crap and they thoroughly beat us all three years. We don't have any excuses. They may could do it again. I hope not. I don't think so, but it could happen. We want to beat these guys because they've beaten us more than Florida, Georgia, Clemson and Tennessee all together.
- Every game every year is different Spurrier says. Last year against Tennessee Connor threw for 80 yards and it was 14-3. This year, the ball was up and down the field. So every game is different.
Segment 6
- Keith in North Carolina was impressed with Tennessee's offensive line. Wants to know if Arkansas' o-line is just as good. Spurrier says he doesn't know but does know that Arkansas has thrown the ball as well as anyone. Turn on the tape and Arkansas looks like a really good team. We really need to play well. We're favored but not sure exactly how they figure that out.
- We've played well offensively at home but not really on the road. Offensively, we feel a lot more comfortable at home. Have to get better on the road too.
Segment 7
- Spurrier says that the preseason rankings don't always mean everything and that it can go bad sometimes but Arkansas is playing better now and we have to be ready. He's tired of losing to Arkansas and again says he wants the fans to be fired up.
