This afternoon Steve Spurrier previewed USC’s matchup with upcoming matchup with Arkansas. The 12th ranked Gamecocks will face the Razorbacks at noon Saturday in Williams-Brice Stadium. This is USC’s final SEC game of the season.
“It’s good to be back after a week off. I think our players and team enjoyed the week off,” Spurrier said. “I think we needed it. We’ve had a bunch of nagging injuries that hopefully will be healed up and ready to play this Saturday at noon when Arkansas comes in.”

Spurrier said his team is pretty healthy coming out of the bye, although quarterback Connor Shaw is still dealing with a sore foot this week.
He sprained his foot against Tennessee at the end of the game, Spurrier said. He was gimping around last night at practice. He stood in the pocket and threw a few, but he couldn’t run last night. Hopefully by the middle of this week he can go.”
Spurrier said Shaw probably would have sat out if the Gamecocks had to play last week. If he can’t go Saturday Dylan Thompson will start in his place.
Arkansas has won three straight over the Gamecocks. They won last year’s game 44-28. In 2010 they beat the Gamecocks 41-20 in Columbia. Carolina is a two touchdown favorite this weekend.
