6 still in reach with a 70% chance for seven win campaign

Win the three here 6-6

Tenn. very winnable even on the road. 75% chance win

App. at home 85% chance win

Vandy at home 90% chance win

Win here 7-5

Texas A&M on the road record 4-3 not one of the their better teams yes good but Like the chances here better now. 70% chance win (this could be the 7th win.

I be happy either way. What you folks say? Yea or Na?

I don’t think you’re calculating your odds correctly.  The odds of flipping a coin on heads twice is not 50%. It’s 25%, you have to multiply the odds for each independent event to determine the likelihood of multiple events occurring.

So using your odds to win each game against Vandy, Tenn and App St... the likelihood of winning all 3 is only a 50.6% chance.

I can live with 6-6 if we win a bowl game.  If we go seven and five that to me would be a pretty successful season plus a bowl win.

If we can find a way to beat Clemson, man oh man.  I don’t think I would care what our record was, LOL

Each game on it's on merit or total? Yea I see your point on odds. Not really a gambling man here lol, but the main jest here is we do have very good odds still. On Clemson. The Gamecocks have a chance here. Will they win? Most likely not.  Taters will be favored by 14 to 21 points counting the home field going the Gamecocks way. That's the way I see it now. Georgia was what 25 points? That was on the road.  If the Gamecocks can play ALL LIGHTS OUT. They will have a very good shot to break the streak. But their are other games left. I am only concerned about beating the Vil's Saturday in Knoxville. 4-4 . That's the best we can be with a win Saturday. :GC_KNQznX:

I am more concerned that we are more competitive in our games more than anything else.  Didn't even watch the UVA bowl game last year.

I would like to see us in a bowl game where we are the underdog against a much higher-ranked team, but if we win out we should be get a decent match in a bowl.

Our SoS is the toughest in the country this year, so I don't think our losses will hurt us like they have in the past.

We won't get to a bowl if we go in the tank, though.

Not unless the OC can improve on these stats!

Yes the Gamecocks offensively will have trouble winning 6 games this season. Dropping the first game to the Tarholes to open the season meant we had to steal one. Gamecocks did vs Georgia. Losing to Mizzuo meant having to steal another maybe against Florida which we all knew would be a very difficult game to win, but the Gamecocks almost accomplish Saturday.  Most fans at this point thinking was the record would be  4-3 or 5-2 at this point. 3-4 now. If no hangover following Saturday's loss gamecocks should win. Even ups the record 4-4. Vanderbilt and App. should also fall the Gamecocks way 6-6 to be bowl eligible. Now the Gamecocks have to still steal one just to make their hand stronger for a better bowl. A&M looks beatable at this time. Clemson, Good news they have to play in the Gamecocks backyard. After beating Georgia on the road anything here can happen.

GOT TO WIN 3 OF THE LAST 5.  Offensively we will not get it done.
It’d be nice to have a healthy Rico, I’m worried he’s done.

It‘d be nice to have a healthy Hilinski, he’s still not close to 100%.

It’d be nice to have a healthy Joyner, hopefully his hamstring is improving.

It’d be nice to have the OL healthy and intact.

It’d be nice for someone other than Edwards to step up and make catches on a consistent basis.

It’d be nice for the refs to call the games somewhat equal.

That all said, I think we can still win 3 of the last 5. Maybe more.

Not surprisingly, you brought your negativity from CT.

Will know some news tonight with Boom's Sunday tele. But from what I am picking up, Good chance he is done. We shell see though.

Why does everyone think App State is a sure fire win? They are 6-0. There are no sure wins left on our schedule. Offense is abysmal and has zero creativity. Lets not even discuss red zone offense

Not sure fire. I did not say 100%. No game is really. Just should be one they have a good shot at a win. If App can keep it close and hang in yes they could well win. We all remember Michigan I hope.

Losing to NC is still a painful thing, but I like the way this team has responded since then. All I ever ask is for the team to play with a lot of heart, great effort, and try to improve every day. I was able to witness all these in our game Saturday with the gators. It was disappointing that we didn't come out with a victory. I'll be the first to say that I was highly upset with some of the flags/no flags in the game, and it was awesome to see Coach Muschamp get so fired up, but the way some of the fans and students responded is not how I want this football team or this University to be viewed. Even some of the comments I've seen about Ray Tanner is uncalled for. I'm ready to move forward and start thinking about our game with the vols. I think Coach Muschamp and his staff will have this team fired up and ready to play. Win or lose I"m here to cheer this team on . FOREVER TO THEE!  Go Cocks   :footballcockysmall:

I’m not sure where you’re coming up with “zero creativity”.  We even uncorked a flea flicker against UF.

In many cases a great call is made and the play is there. RH isn’t 100%, He’s struggling at times with his accuracy. Sometimes he throws off target, sometimes he nails the receiver in the numbers and they drop it.

We need more athletic playmakers at receiver, at times Edwards is the only reliable option. Doesn’t matter who’s calling plays if the guys can’t execute.

Ryan has been getting beat to death, we desperately need Wonnum back from his ankle injury. Nichols is doing his best, he’s just not quite yet ready when it comes to pass blocking.

The guys are doing the best they can, I can’t fault the effort.

I know this means next to nothing, but it's interesting considering the topic.

Using ESPN's matchup predictor, here's where we stand:

vs. Tennessee, 61.2% chance
vs. Vanderbilt, 90.1% chance
vs. App. St., 71.7% chance
vs. Texas A&M, 28.3% chance
vs. Clemson, 15% chance

So if that holds (which is a BIG if in both directions), 6-6 is the result.  The problem is, there is little room for error.  The Georgia game may have saved our bowl chances, but we really need to get the next three in a row.  That is no easy task, but my fingers are crossed.

We have to win @ TN and then beat a good App St team and then Vandy.

Going to be tough but I think we can get it done. Team needs to stay focused and keep fighting. We have to start protecting Hilinski better too.

Using these figures that gives us:

40% chance to win next 3 games

11% chance to win next 4

2% chance to win out.

I'm thinking so too and I hate it for Rico. He has been awesome this year... running angry, good vision, a difference maker but now he's dealing with yet again another potential season ending injury. He has really elevated his play this year and has been fun to watch.

I agree Rico has looked like a totally different player this year and was playing very well.  I hope for him and us that it is not serious, but based on his history I fear the worst for him.

Highly doubt we are going to a bowl game this year. My prediction of 5 wins, 6 at best is coming to fruition.
