Sunday night conference call with coach Beamer
Oct. 30, 2022
Coach Beamer put the loss to Missouri to rest and talked about the offense the injuries, and more on his Sunday teleconference. Below are some of his quotes.
Quotes
Beaner: Really disappointed about last night and got “a bunch of hurt people” in the building. Said it wasn’t good enough in any phase. Have to be better in all phases. Down 17-0 and run just 11 offensive plays. To finish the game was disappointing too. Punted with 11 minutes to go but defense allowed Missouri to chew up a ton of clock before giving the ball back. Said it was “nowhere good enough.”
Beamer: Had some deep shots called but didn't protect well enough to give it a chance, not as explosive last night as they need to be, it's everyone's fault, coaches and players.
Beamer: Whatever they call they have to execute and have to continue to call plays to give them the best chance, have to sustain drives, didn't stay on the field long enough last night.
Beamer: Bell was off the field a lot due to the personnel packages they had called at any particular time.
Beamer: Decent shape injury wise, all injured are probable, Lloyd said he would be fine for Saturday, should get Terrell Dawkins this week, he practiced tonight and looked good.
Beamer: Had a great Sunday evening practice, more energy than they've had on a Sunday. Really disappointing about last night, didn't go any way they wanted it to go in any phases.
Beamer: No discussion or thought to changing play callers. Said every week they always evaluate the things they do well and don’t do well.
Beamer: Have to sustain drives offensively. Hit Stogner on the first drive and didn’t advance past that. Didn’t get off to a great start. Whatever they call they have to execute.
Beamer: Luke Doty, he understands things now in year two and he’s been a “great sounding board” and has grown a lot physically too. He continues to get better. Asked if there’s a chance for him to play, said they’re constantly evaluating.
Beamer: Rattler met today to discuss Rattler’s postgame comments about the offense not knowing what to do. Said they had a good talk about it and said there was a good mental week of preparation. Doesn’t think that’ll be an issue moving forward.
Beamer: Few minutes late getting off the practice field. Good energy from a Sunday practice. Guys were having fun so didn’t want to cut it short.
